Hosted by Sawblade.com product specialist Austin Zimmerman, this video walks you through installing and adjusting guide upgrade kits for wood band saws.

It covers the 2300, 2400, and 500 series guide blocks, offering clear instructions for optimal setup, precise adjustments, and maintenance tips to enhance your saw’s performance and accuracy.

2300 Series Guide Blocks

The 2300 Series guide blocks are designed for easy adjustments with three points of contact and Allen key adjustments. These guide blocks are a great option for 14-inch machines, offering precise adjustments for both upper and lower guides.

The 2301 and 2302 blocks are very similar but differ in the number of adjustment holes. The 2301 features a single hole for easy attachment, primarily used as the upper guide block, while the 2302 provides additional adjustability for centering the guide block along the blade.

Whether you’re using the 2301 or 2302, these guide blocks ensure smooth blade contact with minimal deflection and wear.

2400 Series Guide Blocks

The 2400 Series guide blocks offer similar functionality to the 2300 Series but are specifically designed for larger machines (16-inch, 18-inch, and 20-inch models).

These blocks provide the same three-point adjustability with an Allen key and a slider system for both the side guides and backup bearings. The main difference is the sturdier construction, which is perfect for handling larger blades (up to 1.25-inch width) on more robust machines.

The 2400 Series is perfect for those seeking heavy-duty performance while still offering smooth, precise adjustments to the blade position.

500 Series Guide Blocks

The 500 Series guide blocks are a significant step up from the 2300 and 2400 Series. These blocks are designed for vertical positioning and feature eccentric shafts that control the bearing’s position relative to the blade.

This eccentric design allows for precise adjustments, ensuring the guide blocks move closer or farther away from the blade with ease. The 500 Series is ideal for heavy-duty applications and offers greater adjustability for machines requiring superior precision.

These guide blocks are also ideal for making adjustments to accommodate different blade widths, such as 1/4-inch, 3/4-inch, and other standard sizes.
